FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Abuja, Nigeria – June 30 , 2026 – As part of its commitment to building a more inclusive supplier ecosystem, eHealth Africa, in collaboration with EHA Impact Ventures (EIV), has completed the training of 213 women entrepreneurs from across 11 Nigerian states. Through the Women Vendor Accelerator Program, participants were equipped with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to compete for institutional procurement opportunities.

Women-owned businesses often face barriers to accessing formal procurement opportunities, including limited visibility into procurement processes, inadequate networks, and insufficient access to capacity-building support.  Through its operations across Africa, eHealth Africa works with an extensive network of suppliers and service providers. The Women Vendor Accelerator Program was designed,  under the EHA Group mandate, to address these challenges by equipping women entrepreneurs with the practical tools required to participate successfully in institutional supply chains. Thus,  the organization is intentionally expanding access to procurement opportunities while helping entrepreneurs build the capacity required to compete successfully.

Held on June 17, 2026, the program brought together 213 women entrepreneurs from Kano, Abuja, Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Bauchi, and Niger States through a hybrid format that combined in-person participation across all 11 states with virtual attendance from participants nationwide.

Participants received practical training on vendor registration and onboarding requirements, procurement processes, ethical business conduct, business formalization, and strategies for positioning their businesses competitively for institutional contracts. The sessions also provided a platform for entrepreneurs to engage directly with procurement professionals, ask questions, and gain clarity on supplier expectations and opportunities.

Speaking during the training, eHealth Africa’s Director of Finance and Administration, Dr Ben Igbinosa, said the program was designed to demystify procurement processes and equip women vendors with the knowledge and confidence needed to compete fairly, deliver excellence, and build sustainable businesses. He said, “Empowering women entrepreneurs requires more than good intentions; it requires deliberate action, equitable access, and intentional investment in their capacity to compete. Through this program, we are opening pathways for more women-owned businesses to participate in institutional procurement while strengthening local enterprise.”

Dr Ben also revealed that, beyond providing targeted training, eHealth Africa is also prioritizing women-owned businesses by creating more opportunities for them to participate in its procurement processes and supply chains. “We are excited to see these entrepreneurs take the next step toward securing new opportunities and growing their enterprises,” he added.

For EHA Impact Ventures, the program represents a broader commitment to strengthening women-led businesses beyond access to capital. “This training is a critical first step in building a stronger pipeline of women-owned businesses capable of competing for institutional opportunities,” said Ramatu Abdullah, Senior Coordinator, Executive Project Support, EHA Impact Ventures. “We are not only helping women understand procurement systems; we are creating pathways for them to access guidance, strategic networks, market opportunities, and financing that can accelerate business growth.”

Speaking on the potential impact of the training, Founder, Skin Whispers Ng and program beneficiary, Sumayyah Muhammad, said the training will position her for new opportunities.  “EHA has just elevated me into a bigger room. As a small business owner looking to grow and secure more contracts, this has been an eye-opening experience. I am leaving with a clearer understanding of how to position my business for new opportunities.”

The Women Vendor Accelerator Program is a direct outcome of an EHA Group Board directive to expand opportunities for women-owned businesses and foster a more inclusive supplier ecosystem across the Group. Through the program, participants gained visibility into procurement opportunities within eHealth Africa, EHA Clinics, and EHA Impact Ventures, as well as the knowledge and tools needed to compete successfully for institutional contracts.

The training marks the first phase of the Women Vendor Accelerator Program. Over the coming months, participants will receive continued guidance to meet the EHA procurement requirements, vendor matching opportunities, and access to capital solutions facilitated by EHA Impact Ventures.

Together, eHealth Africa and EHA Impact Ventures are building a stronger pipeline of procurement-ready women-owned businesses, expanding access to institutional markets, and advancing a more inclusive supplier ecosystem that supports sustainable economic growth.
