Bridging the Tech Skills gap in Public Health

On Wednesday, 31st May 2023, eHealth Africa held its monthly insight webinar. This episode titled “Bridging The Tech Skills Gap in Public Health” dissected issues around access to quality digital education to build solutions that will help solve public health challenges and other local problems. The discussion raised awareness of the existing gaps in Tech Skills and the importance of bridging the gap to enhance public health in Africa. 

The Panelists successfully dissect critical barriers and challenges that have hindered the efforts to bridge the tech skills gap in public health and the importance of adopting technology to prevent the reoccurrence of health emergencies and emergency preparedness. They also identified the need to improve technological infrastructure and bridge language barriers, especially in remote areas. They also explained the importance of stakeholders’ collaboration with intentional funding to ensure young people succeed, especially in the ever-dynamic digital world. The webinar also revealed the need to build the capacity of health professionals in crucial technological skills to enable them to harness tech solutions for better health outcomes.
